Q: How are the excursions you offer different from the ones offered through the cruise lines?
A: When compared to excursions offered through the cruise lines, ours are often less expensive and feature smaller group sizes.

Q: What sort of guarantees do you offer on your excursions?
A: We have the same guarantees that the cruise lines would offer. This includes our ‘Don’t miss the ship guarantee’, where we ensure you are returned to the ship with plenty of time to spare before your ship departs. We also have a ‘Money back guarantee’, which states that if your ship arrives late or misses a port causing you to be unable to enjoy your excursion, you will receive a 100% refund.

Q: Does the website reflect live updated availability of excursions?
A: No. Due to the complexities of our reservations system we are unable to show live availability on the website for individual excursions.  For the most accurate and up to date tour information, including space and availability please contact our shore excursions department at 1-800-565-2784 or via email at ShoreEx@CruiseExpertsTravel.com

Q: Should I book my shore excursions directly through the website or should I call in to speak with the shore excursion department?
A: It is possible to book your excursions directly through the website, however we highly recommend calling in to speak with the shore excursion department before making your reservation. They will be able to give you the latest availability, departure times, and professional insight and recommendations for tours that work best with your itinerary.

Q: What currency are your shore excursions offered in?
A: Our excursions are all quoted in US Dollars. This includes tours which are based in Canada. All prices include tax.

Q: What payment options do I have?
A: We accept payment by credit card (Visa, Mastercard, and American Express). If you wish to pay by a method besides credit card, please call our shore excursions department to discuss your options and to make arrangements.

Please note: NO PAYMENT IS TAKEN AT THE TIME OF BOOKING. Our customers are given the option at checkout to have payment applied after all tours and transfers have been confirmed (usually within 1-3 business days) or to delay payment until 30 days prior to tour date. If a reservation request is made within 30 days of the tour or transfer we will complete payment once all details have been confirmed with our operators. Q: After I book my shore excursions what sort of documentation should I receive?
A: Immediately after booking you will receive an automated email receipt of your excursion reservations. Once your request has been confirmed you will be emailed your excursion vouchers, with details of departure dates and times, meeting instructions, and tour operator contact information. These are your tickets for your tours and should be printed and included with your travel documents. Shortly after the excursion vouchers are sent out you will also be emailed an invoice from our administration department summarizing the details of your excursion reservations.

Q: What proof of my excursion reservation is required to join my tour?
A: Your shore excursion voucher. Once you receive this by email you will need to print it off. You will hand it over to your tour guide at the beginning of the tour. These vouchers also contain important information for your reference including the name of your tour, tour date, departure time, meeting instructions, tour operator contact information, and other important details pertaining to your tour.

Q: Should I insure my shore excursions?
A: Yes. We recommend that you insure the cost of your shore excursions in a similar way that you would insure the costs associated with your cruise and other travel arrangements. This can be arranged directly through your cruise agent.

Q: What happens if my shore excursion is cancelled?
A: In the event that your excursion is cancelled due to any reason outside of your control (ie. poor weather, ship late to port, etc.) you will receive a full refund. Your tour operator will notify you if there is the option to reschedule your tour later in the day. If you wish to book an alternate tour while in port please contact our shore excursion department at 1-800-565-2784 to discuss your options. We may be able to book tours for that same day or for another day and port later in your vacation.

Q: How many excursions would you recommend booking?
A: This is entirely up to you and the time that you have available in port. Depending on the duration of your stay at a given location, you may have time to enjoy up to two (and in rare cases three) excursions while in port. Generally we recommend reserving one tour per port in order to balance time spent on the excursion with time spent exploring the towns.

Q: What is the average length of an excursion?
A: Excursions can range from 1-8 hours in length. The majority of our tours run approximately 3-4 hours.

Q: How much should I budget for excursions?
A: Our tours range from under $40 to over $500, with the most popular tours averaging around $150-$200 per person.

Q: Do you offer child rates?
A: Yes. Many of our tours have discount rates for children. The age that qualifies as a child varies depending on the tour. Please refer to the excursion description for further information regarding child rates (if applicable).

Q: Do you offer senior rates?
A: No. Seniors would simply qualify as an adult rate.

Q: I received a promo/coupon code through email. How do I redeem it?
A: The easiest way is to contact our shore excursion department at 1-800-565-2784. If you wish to redeem your promo code online please select the tours you wish to book and proceed to the checkout. On the checkout page you will be prompted to enter your coupon code which will automatically apply your discount before completing your order.

Q: My cruise agent offered me a shore side credit towards shore excursions. How do I redeem it?

Q: I have a wheelchair. Can your excursions accommodate me?
A: Yes, if you have a collapsible wheelchair. Your chair will be folded and stored during the excursion. Unfortunately we are unable to accommodate you if you have a motorized or non-collapsible wheelchair. The types of transportation we use do not have ramps or lifts that can accommodate guests in motorized or non-collapsible wheelchairs. If your wheelchair collapses and you are able to take a couple steps onto a bus, train, or boat then there are number of tour options available to you. Please speak with our shore excursion professionals for the most suitable tour options for your needs.
